ike
operates 12 gravel pits, 11 crushing facilities, and 41 asphalt plants
spread throughout Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Pike Industries is
divided into 3 regions with a divisional office located in each region.
These regional-based operations have streamlined our corporate structure
by maintaining strong business partnerships with their client base as
well as supporting a more personal approach of satisfying their customer's
needs.
Each geographical region has operations that include asphalt and aggregate
production, paving/installation, grinding, reclamation, and heavy highway
divisions.
Aggregates
Pike Industries is a leading producer of quality aggregates for New England's construction industry. Our construction
aggregates are produced with the same pride and quality that has made our asphalt products famous.
Our facilities can produce several specification products simultaneously, and with production capabilities in excess
of 60,000 tons per day and in excess of 7 million tons per year.
Aggregate Calculator
The Aggregate Calculator helps you to estimate the aggregate tonnage required for your job. To use the Aggregate Calculator,
simply enter the width, length, and thickness of your job, and click on whether you are measuring the thickness in feet or
inches. Next, click on either Base Rock, Drain Rock, or a custom density selection. The Base Rock and Drain Rock selections
will fill in the density of the rock for you; the Custom selection allows you to enter a rock density in the Density field.
Finally, click on the "Calculate" button. The calculator will estimate the number of tons of aggregate that
will be required.
Please note that densities will vary somewhat between different loads, but the default values assigned for Base Rock and
Drain Rock are good standard "rules of thumb" for estimating.
Asphalt
The company operates 41 asphalt plants in New England, producing asphalt in excess of 3 million tons per year. All of
our facilities are staffed with knowledgeable personnel, current technology and equipment. Our plants are strategically
placed to minimize hauling costs and provide the best service possible. Pike produces asphalt for internal paving and
installation as well as accommodating a large customer base.
